Okay, so my name is Paul, Paul Burton. I’m not a secret agent, instead I work as an office temp in Portsmouth.

I hope to be standing as an MP for Portsmouth South next year.

I’m 23 years old and am pretty much lacking in any formal qualifications, I am however studying for a degree with the Open University, which is nice.

I live in Portsmouth, in the UK. Almost everyone in the city has at one point worked for at least one of the following:
The NHS (same everywhere)
The Navy
The Listening Company
The Co-Op

Anyway… What do I do?
When I’m not putting off doing my uni work I play guitar, I sometimes play in front of other people but this rarely goes well. If I’m not playing music I’m usually listening to it. I also have an on-off love affair with blogging and have tried many…many times to try and keep to doing one. Hopefully this one will take and I’ll become a millionaire off it. Hey we can all dream, right?

Up until a few years ago I used to write a lot, mostly for my own enjoyment – Some of it was pretty good, a couple of bits I was even proud of. I also used to be big on photography but again that’s kind of waned over the past couple of years. It’s not that I don’t enjoy doing either of those activities but I’m either too lazy or busy to actually do either. Mostly it’s the lazy. Occasionally I cook, usually sweet things and I’m also a freelance environmentalist. I also really enjoy comedy, especially Bill Hicks, George Carlin, Eddie Izzard and Bill Bailey

My views – I’m fiercely liberal. I believe that you should have the right to do pretty much anything you want so long as it doesn’t infringe on another, however I also believe that the right to do that should also come with the responsibility to help others who through whatever reason aren’t able to enjoy that right. I try to do what I can to follow that but I’m not by any means perfect.
I also believe in a woman’s right to chose, but that abortion should not be used as birth control. That love between people is equal regardless of gender or sex. That sex is what is on the outside, gender is what is on the inside and that neither are entirely binary. That there is no god, we are here and we should try to do the best we can for ourselves and those around us, but the only judging done will be by those people and those that we leave behind when we die. That the Earth will survive whatever wrongs we commit aginst it, however we won’t and maybe, just maybe, that’s for the best and that governments should be there to look after the people and not to rule over them.
I’m also a real night owl, which is why I’m up at half 12 at night doing this right now.
